Finally seem to be healthy again, now I can concentrate on building up my race fitness.
The problem when you're sick is that you take one step forward and two steps back
when you force yourself. I tried not to force myself while still sick, so while not going backwards
I haven't made the improvements I had planned on.
Anyway, I being realistic about the situation and just trying to look after myself and get racing kilometres in. I'm in the 3 days of west Flanders at the moment but struggled yesterday (stage 1) with a rib injury sustained here last year. The osteopath path came and worked on my back, ribs and pelvis to try to free everything up and enable me to breath. I felt like I was riding on 3 cylinders.
Next up is Tirreno - Adriatico in Italy - a seven day stage race where I hope to ride myself into form for Milan - San Remo. Everything will have to go right from here on in to be able to make it over the Cipressa and Poggio on March 24.
Yesterday was wet and cold, at least the sun is shining today!
