[29/01/2007] - Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my 2007 site!!

The year so far has gone so fast and I just found a few moments to sit in front of the computer and type a few lines.

Thanks for all your messages - I know you have to fill in lots of info to get a message on (damn spammers!) but I read and appreciate all of them.

I'm gonna try to put more diary entries this year - I spend enough time on internet, just ask the Mrs!!

Well, I've managed to rack up two wins in the first 3 weeks of the year and since I started back on the bike in December I also took the 2007 Australian Criterium Championship in Brisbane.

I have started slower this season to try to peak a little later in March and have a really good shot at Milan - San Remo. So even though I won a stage at the Bay Series and also in the last stage of Tour Down Under it has been a bit of a struggle. I have suffered with bronchitis for the last 3 weeks and just when I thought I had it beaten after TDU it has come back worse this week and now is when I want to put in some serious kilometers.

I have until February 12th here in Australia when we (the wife and kids) will return to Belgium. Now is a good time to be in the southern hemisphere as it is snowing in Europe and minus 10°C!!

I will line up in the Ruta Del Sol 18 - 22 Feb then do a couple of training rides on the Omloop Het Volk course around where I live in Belgium. The race is on March 3rd. In march are my first two big goals,  Tirrenno - Adriatico (14 - 20th) and Milan - San Remo (24th). After these I'll ride GP Waregem, E3 Prijs Harelbeke then have a short break.

Here's hoping to give you something to cheer about!

Robbie
