After the crash in the last 200m of the Scheldeprijs we are glad to report that Robbie has no fractures and should make a quick recovery and be back racing as planned at the Tour de Romandie 28.4 - 3.5.2009 and the Giro d'Italia from May 9th.

Robbie underwent a series of xrays and scans at his local hospital in Geraardsbergen to rule out the possibility of a rib fracture after he coughed blood shortly after the fall.

Robbie says, "I'm stiff and sore all over but yesterday (16.4.2009) I managed to get out on the bike and pedal gently for 45 minutes. I expect that with the treatment from my physio Victor Popov, I'll be back in action by next week and ready to take on the bunch sprints at the Giro."
