Today's stage at Tirreno-Adriatico was also the longest, 235 hilly km between Civitanova Marche and Camerino, with in the final phase the ascent of Sasso Tetto, 42 kilometres short of the finish.

The winner of the hefty stage was Italian Michele Scarponi (PVC Diquigiovanni), winner of a three-man sprint ahead of Stefano Garzelli (Aqua & Sapone) and Ivan Basso (Liquigas). Robiie finished 161th, at 34'16" from Scarponi.

Double shot of Scarponi, who will wear the leader's jersey for tomorrow's final stage.
