After yesterday's prologue, Strasbourg remained the start and finish point at Tour de France.
The stage was run over 184 mostly flat kilometres, except one single 4th category hill.
Seven racers attacked immediately at the start:, but the gap never passed the 4'30" mark.
In the second half of the race, the teams of the sprinters start started reducing the gap, and the last of the leaders was caught with 9 km to go.
The first pack sprint arrived and was won by France's Jimmy Casper (Cofidis), followed by our Robbie and Germany's Erik Zabel (Team Milram).
George Hincapie (Discovery Channel) is the new leader.
