I circled it on the calender, I trained hard for it but there will be no Gent - Wevelgem for me this year.

I came down sick on Sunday evening with a throat infection that went on to become a fever as well. After 24 hours of having a fever from Monday morning till Tuesday morning I knew that riding G - W wouldn't be an option. I feel a lot better now but I'm on antibiotics for a week for the throat. I'll be racing again next Wednesday in the Scheldeprijs Schoten which I won in 2002.
